Hi, this is TheCandidConservative with today’s candid minute…Republicans have dwindled to 31% of California’s registered voters. Efforts to shine up the elephant’s image are underway, but it’s a mission doomed to failure. Elephants were made to work, not look pretty. Standing for something people can count on is the only way to renew Republican enthusiasm. People are leaving this Party because it has become a storefront for power interests versus a fortress for conservative principles. When matched against their liberal counterparts, Republican politicians are usually the lesser of evils. Evil, in any form, cannot restore the American Dream. Compromise, please and appease practices, and political pretense are all ways Republicans invite the devil to their table. Elephant Party renewal requires a rededication to neglected principles matched with action. Conservative thinkers should not abandon the Republican ship. Building a new boat in the middle or our society’s current storm is not realistic.
